We are back at Eklecticafe but not going to linger long enough for me to compose a complete blog post using my thumbs. So here are some pics and I’m keeping notes to flesh this out later. As usual I had lots of thoughts about adventure and mindfulness and learning and how this all relates to playing the bassoon. Also it’s pretty here.
Turned out that CBD lollipop I'd bought for my leg also had THC. That made for an amazing day of riding -- I honestly believe I was safer this way (there were no cars or extreme drops) because I was just 10 percent less inhibited, and that's what you need to improve. Freezing up and panicking = more dangerous.
This had too many variables for me to attempt. Narrow, sandy, loose rocks, downhill, obstacles. I can do two, maybe three at a time but not all five, so I walked my bike. Just like with practicing music, you need to find something that is just at your edge, overcome that, and then your confidence grows.
So delightful for this old lady to do something for a couple hours and observe the improvement. I’m still never gonna be good at this but the overcoming of fear is thrilling. I’m already obsessed with Westworld even without literally being in Westworld. I feel like one of those robots, improvising and learning and evolving.
